I live in Central Vermont with my life partner Christopher and our 2 cats Honey Bee and Smokey . If you have any questions regarding the website or current works, please feel free to call or email.
As well as having the online store I also run a studio that offers both private and group classes on stringing beads and for those more adventuresome souls I will also teach beginner jewelry / fabrication classes.
Much of my time is spent creating new lines of work, and one of a kind pieces. I also enjoy creating custom designs as well as the repair and restoration aspect. I have been repairing jewelry for over 35 years and have found that to be very rewarding. If you have jewelry that needs to be repaired or just cleaned up, please feel free to email or call and we can figure out the best approach for your situation.
If you have any questions about any of my pieces or just have a general question please feel free to email or call, I will be happy to help in any way I can. Thank you for visiting the site.
Artist's Statement My hand-fabricated designs are built around the gem stones I use. The color and texture of each stone guide how I make each piece. I like Drusy , the crystals that sparkle on the surface of candy-colored gems. Pearls are often part of my pieces, but I use many different types of stones.
My inspiration comes from nature. The stones, our treasures from the earth, remain hidden until they become gems. From beach pebbles to precious gems, I will play with the stones, and enjoy rearranging them while allowing the design process to flow from their colors and shapes.
Once the stones are selected , I focus on what metal to use for those particular stones-gold or silver. I draw lines with metal, not pencil or pen. Experimenting with metal alloys, mixing colors of metal with stones and making textures in metal giving contrast to the gemstones.
My limited edition designs are short production runs of 5 to 50 pieces in gold or silver. I won't produce larger quantities in order to retain the unique properties inherent in all my jewelry. I use cabochons and faceted stones from reputable dealers with whom I have worked with, for over 35 years as a jeweler. I also enjoy finding tiny, smooth pebbles throughout New England or wherever I may happen to be!
I am a juried member of the Vermont Handcrafter's Association, and a tenured artist of the Weston Craft Show in Weston, Vermont.
